Some Things Just Don't Change

September 4th, 2025

I was stoked heading into this weekend at the thought of Chelsea continuing their undefeated run. Yes, it's only been 3 games but I'm fired up with how we're playing. We had a slow start to the season with an underwhelming draw against Crystal Palace -- sloppy tackles, Estevao skying the ball in the last minutes of the game, and it just felt like we were missing that extra 2%. The Blues quickly turned things around with massive wins against West Ham and Fulham.

And just as we're picking up momentum, the international break comes around. I wrote a blog post almost four years ago about how these international breaks do no good for players and fans (albeit to a lesser degree). Much of that post still holds true today. Feel free to take a read here

No dose of Chelsea this weekend. No sneaky finishes from Cucurella. No Caicedo zipping across the field. No Neto dominating the wings.

On the bright side, I won't have to let 11 guys kicking a ball around control my happiness this weekend.
